Due to the proprietary nature of our rating system, we do not disclose our rating
sources. However, in general, our sources are comprised of government data, local
and state public records, and various rating agencies.
If you do not have Patient Opinions, you are given a base score of 4 red checks
for each Category. Once Patients begin to rate your care, your Patient Opinion score
is calculated by a weighted rating average rather than raw data average. Various
filters are applied to the raw data in order to eliminate and reduce attempts at
'opinion stuffing' by individuals more interested in changing the current rating
of a doctor than giving their true opinion of that doctor. In addition, patients
may only rate their doctor once and in turn, doctors may only endorse a fellow colleague
once. The exact methods we use will not be disclosed. This should ensure that the
policy remains effective. The result is a more accurate rating average.
