About Doctor

Dr. Holmberg grew up in Poulsbo, Washington, located on the Kitsap Peninsula. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Western Washington University. During his undergraduate career, he participated in a student exchange to Belgium. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston graduating in the Beta Sigma Kappa Honors fraternity. He trained at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Hospital in Miami. He went on to complete a residency at the Veteran's Affairs Healthcare Facility in Brockton, Massachusetts. Dr. Holmberg was awarded the Department of Veteran's Affairs Performance Award in recognition of excellent clinical care. He moved to Sacramento after finishing his post-graduate and a short while later opened Arena Eye Care Optometry. Dr. Holmberg is a Past President of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society. He enjoys specialty contact lens fittings for myopia management, keratoconus, and other corneal diseases. He is also glaucoma certified. He enjoys sports, watching movies and spending time with his family in his spare time.
