About Dentist

Dr. Matei’s journey into the world of dentistry began in her homeland of Romania, where she completed her initial dental education. Her passion for the field led her to the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry, where she earned an MS in Biomaterials and a Certificate in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. Driven by a commitment to excellence, Dr. Matei pursued advanced training in implantology in Switzerland as an ITI Scholar. There, she had the opportunity to train with some of the most renowned experts in the field. Upon returning to the USA, she dedicated her expertise to teaching as a full-time faculty member at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and as an assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Matei is also a LANAP certified clinician since 2024, demonstrating her commitment to staying at the forefront of dental innovation. Her research has been widely recognized, with several co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals focusing on the in vivo and in vitro characterization of biomaterials for tissue reconstruction and regeneration, dental implants, and periodontal regeneration. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Matei enjoys hiking and savoring good food, often accompanied by her beloved dog. Her journey reflects a deep dedication to her field and a continuous pursuit of knowledge, making her a distinguished figure in the realm of dentistry.
